Insight MEDITATION
THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES ARE A GIFT FOR YOU TO INITIATE, SUSTAIN, AND COMPLETE An INSIGHT MEDITATION SESSION. THESE GUIDELINES WILL EASILY RESONATE WITH FAMILIARITY WITH YOU.
THE WILL
You have decided, to meditate. Your body, mind, and spirit are alerted. You have initiated your power center within you. It is your will, and you are using it wisely. Choose your will over distraction and you will own a piece of the universe.
POSTURE
Your posture is your noble presentation that honors the will’s decision to meditate. For now, a sitting posture encompasses that purpose. Let gravity effortlessly bring you into a position of comfort and readiness. You now have created sacred ground.
Duration
Decide how long you want to meditate. 10- 20 minutes or longer. Distracting thoughts will visit your meditation. When they do, slowly take a breath in, and out. This re -centers your meditation back to neutral. Use the breath sequence as many times as needed. Thoughts will come and go. It’s all okay. It’s part of the cycle of meditation. Also, use the centers words you will receive in this meditation session, they will re-center the meditation back to your center place.
Concentration
Concentration is the cousin of the will. It is the power part of you. It is the muscle of the will. It is your centering power in the meditative process. Concentration is the travel part of meditation. This vibrating entity drives the certainty of the presence of mind needed in meditation.
IMAGINATION
Imagination creates space, content, and flow. For the moment, imagine a wonderful comfortable room with a comfortable chair. Relax in the room for a moment. See how clear this can be. This is called relaxed imagery. Your imagination feels and believes in its own certainty. Let this image easily disappear into the next step.
Centering Words
Center point words are the stabilizing words used for Insight Meditation. These words are very familiar words you will know well.
Using your inner voice, call forward the word “Stillness”…… no extra words to right or left of the word. Just the word stillness. Let the word stillness take root with its meaning. Feel how your meditation journey becomes stiller. Let the word drift in and out with ease as long as you like. Your body and mind will enjoy the stillness. When you feel ready, call forward your next center word. “Clearness” . Say the word clearness a few times in your meditation. Experience the vibrational response of clearing thoughts away. Easily let the words stillness and clearness drift in and out of your meditation.
When ready, call forward with your inner voice the word “Less Thought.” The word less thought means exactly that, less thought. Say less thought three times, easily. Pause, and then easily say, “No Thoughts” a few times. Pause for a moment, this is your still point, your center point of meditation. It is wonderful and captivating to be able to do this and know that you know how to do this.
COMPLETION
The you that goes into your meditation is not the same you that comes out of meditation. With this in mind, you complete each meditation with a sense of accomplishment; a sense of renewal, because the real ending of meditation is the beginning of mindfulness. The real effect of meditation is when you are not in meditation, and you are in everyday life feeling and knowing your meditation is your superpower. Remember, it is the you, meeting the new you.
